Japanese Event- Mame Machi – Bean Throwing

Today, 3rd of February is the day of bean throwing. It is called Mame maki (豆まき). Why does Japanese throw the beans? This is to get rid of demons and welcome fortune in their life.

At temples, at shrines, at home, bean throwing takes in place.
