A Japanese Children’s Song – 童謡 [Yu-yake Koyake] “Sunset Glow” (夕焼け小焼け)

Today’s children’s song is called 夕焼け小焼け・Sunset glow.

It has been raining in UK. Some of autumn leaves are still hanging at the branches though.

Some days we have a lovely sunset. Today’s song is about sunset glow which tells us a time to go home.

It is very simple lyrics which easily remember. Why don’t you learn and sing!

Ok now let’s listen the song.

Translation

Japanese
English
1. Yu-yake koyake de hi ga kurete
Yama no otera no kane ga naru
Otete tsunai de mina kaero
Karasu to ittsho ni kaeri masho
Sun set glow, it becomes dark
A bell of a temple rings
let’s go home hand in hand
Let’s go home together with a crow
2. Kodomo ga kaetta atokara wa
marui ookina otsuki sama
kotori ga yume o miru koro wa
sora niwa kirakira kin no hoshi
After children went home
A big round moon appears
By the time a bird has a dream
sparkling gold stars in sky

Now let’s sing!

Hope you will enjoy this song with your children and be able to learn some Japanese words! Please let me know if you enjoyed it or not!

THANK YOU Arigato
