Enoshima, Shounan, Kanagawa, JAPAN

My trip to Enoshima took a place in 2018. Less than 2 hours from Tokyo we can get a lovely coast called Shonan. Enoshima is a small island off the Shōnan coast of Japan’s Kanagawa Prefecture. The Enoshima Station is standing full of Japanese atmosphere.

Eno den 江の電 – The Enoshima Electric Railway or Enoden is a private railway in Japan which connects Kamakura Station in Kamakura with Fujisawa Station in Fujisawa, and stops Enoshima Station.

Enoshima Station

Just about 10 minutes walk from the Enoshima Station, we walk cross the bridge, here we are, a little pretty island, Enoshima welcomes us.

We went to Enoshima shrine which consists of three shrines, He-tsu-miya, Naka-tsu-miya and Oku-tsu-miya. I can not remember how many steps all together. I think we can get a life from some points but we decided to take steps. It was rather hard for me.

After visiting shrines we suddenly became hungry we decided to eat Enoshima famous Shirasu!

A stylish restaurant

If we visit Enoshima, we must try Shirasu (whitebait). I had a shirasu don. The topping of Shirasu, Salmon eggs and a  poached egg on the rice looked delicious and it was tasty as it looks.

Why don’t you include Enoshima in your next Japan trip?

Thank you for stopping by.
