NGO「The important things when you talk about wars with children」

According to News Web Easy, there might be children who are feeling scary after watching the news about Russia has attacked Ukraine.

NGO, Save the Children Japan has introduced the five important things when we talk about wars with children on their official website.

  1. To make a time to listen to children when children want to talk or question about wars.
  2. To explain appropriately to fit to children’s age.
  3. Do not say 「That is wrong」about various feelings which children have.
  4. To tell children that it is ok to play as usual and meet their friends.
  5. To support children’s feeling if children thought that 「they want to help people who are suffering」

NGO said 「Children might think that the things they watch on TV is happening near them. We would like you all to utilize these five points to make children feel safe. 」
